Myrtle Beach, SC – With the first day of school starting Monday morning, the Myrtle Beach Police Department is reminding drivers to expect heavier traffic around schools and to use extra caution during drop-off and pick-up times.
The department issued an alert urging motorists to plan ahead, allow for additional travel time, and follow all posted school zone speed limits. Officers also emphasized the importance of staying alert for children crossing streets and school buses loading or unloading.
Police noted that even a short delay could help prevent accidents and ensure student safety as classes resume for the new academic year.
