DENVER (KDVR) — A man was airlifted from the Rocky Mountain National Park after being injured on Sunday, according to a press release from RMNP.

On Sunday morning, park rangers received a call about a 26-year-old climber who had taken a "roped fall" on the South Face of Petit Grepon, located in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The fall left him with lower leg injuries, and his climbing partner had to help rappel to the base of the route, where a team of park rangers had been dispatched to provide medical care.

A search and rescue team for RMNP, called a litter team, carried equipment to the base of Timberline Falls for a possible guiding line operation.
