His dad was an X Factor finalist 20 years ago – but talented Luke Pemberton’s own musical journey is starting with an ambitious self-penned production. In 2005, as part of Teesside-based duo Journey South, Luke’s dad Carl Pemberton, along with brother Andy, reached finals night of The X Factor, finishing third behind Andy Abraham and winner Shayne Ward.

Twenty years on and now it’s Carl’s son Luke’s turn to shine, with a historical musical he’s written – and will perform in – to be staged at Yarm’s Princess Alexandra Auditorium on August 26 and 27.
