BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) -Senator Bernie Sanders spoke to older Vermonters about their concerns with the state of the country Sunday.

Senator Sanders was welcomed with a standing ovation from older Vermonters when he came to Hotel Champlain for a discussion.

“Talk about what’s going on in our country and needless to say...there’s a lot that’s going on,” Sanders said.

Guests enjoyed a meal, music and were able to mingle with each other before the discussion.

Sanders opened with calling the current Trump Administration an Oligarchy, and criticized the wealth inequality.

“Sixty percent of Americans including millions of seniors are struggling to put food on the table and live a decent life,” Sanders said.
