The biggest signing in Vancouver Whitecaps history is all set to step onto the field with his new team.
German soccer legend Thomas Muller will most likely make his MLS debut on Sunday evening against Houston FC wearing his international number of 13.
But first, the vibrant soccer veteran had to make it through the throngs of fans and well-wishers in downtown Vancouver on his way to a sold-out B.C. Place stadium.
As expected, the gregarious German with the energetic social media presence lapped it all up.
Some 30,000 fans are expected to witness the debut of the attacking midfielder they call Herr Raumdeuter in Germany — a player who excels at interpreting and exploiting space on the pitch.
Muller, 35, is expected to substitute into the game at some point.
