A flash flood warning was released by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 8:12 p.m. in effect until 10:15 p.m. for Burlington County.

"At 8:12 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 30 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," states the weather service. "Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low-lying areas."

The weather service comments, "Don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
