Water recovery teams are working to find a swimmer who went missing at Beaver Dam in Baltimore County on Sunday, according to the police department.

Officers responded around 6 p.m. to the 10,000 block of Beaver Dam Road in Cockeysville, where a person had reportedly disappeared in the water and was unaccounted for, according to police.

The Baltimore County Fire Department (BCFD) said a swimmer, who is said to be a 36-year-old man, was reportedly seen struggling in the water and went under.

Dive operations were suspended Sunday night and continued on Monday morning, with assistance from handheld sonar, divers, and an underwater robot from the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue, BCFD said.
