SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT- It was an “awesome” day at the Little League World Series.

That was a word used often by the Little Leaguers and players with the New York Mets and Seattle Mariners to describe their experience Sunday.

The two major league teams visited the series early afternoon and watched parts of two games before heading to historic Bowman Field where they played in the MLB/Little League Classic.

Four elimination round games were played but the focus from the time they were there was on the major league players.

They mingled and sat with series players in the stands as they watched part of games in which Canada eliminated Australia and Honolulu, Hawaii, did the same to Clarendon, Illinois.

The major leaguers signed numerous autographs and freely talked with the youngsters.
