NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - Hurricane Erin continues to hold tight at a category 3 status as another area in the tropical Atlantic is highlighted by the National Hurricane Center for future formation.

Erin is currently about 310-miles northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico and 155-miles east-northeast of Grand Turk Island while continuing to roar with maximum sustained winds of 125-mph.

The hurricane is moving in a west-northwestward motion at 13-mph with hurricane-force winds extending outward up to 50-miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extending up to 205-miles.

Erin is expected to continue traveling west-northwest through Sunday then gradually turning northwest and north on Monday and Tuesday with the National Hurricane Center saying, "The core of [this storm] is expected to p
