CHICAGO - One of the primary reasons why the Buffalo Bills agreed to conduct a joint practice with the Chicago Bears came into view Sunday night when the teams played each other in their second preseason game of the summer.
After banging heads for more than two hours on Friday, during which they got in productive and physical work with the benefit of coaches Sean McDermott and Ben Johnson being able to control the script, McDermott was able to make the conscious decision to sit almost all of his frontline players.
“I feel like it's been very valuable the years that we've been able to do it,” McDermott said before the Bills flew to Chicago in anticipation of the joint practice, recalling the session last year with the Steelers. “Our goal when we practice together with a team is to mak
