VILONIA, Ark. — The Vilonia community wrapped their arms tightly around a man who is battling cancer and fighting hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel on Sunday, Aug. 17.
Tim Sweeney has lived in Vilonia his entire life. He was first diagnosed with melanoma in 2018. Earlier this year, he was faced with the news that the skin cancer had returned—and this time, it was spreading like wildfire.
"You realize every moment has got to be a big one. Even something simple now is big," Sweeney said.
A big moment for Sweeney was seeing Family Weaver Park packed with people smiling, eating, and supporting him and his family.
"My family is pretty special. So, it's really good to see the community show up for them. We need them. At the end of the day, we needed them, and they showed," he sa
