SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -A drive-thru clinic was held in Springfield to provide vaccines for area pets at a cheaper price Sunday morning.

Rescue One allowed pet owners to get their dogs vaccinated for $10 each and microchipped for $20 each. They also sold flea and tick medications, while supplies lasted.

Attendees say the event helps cut down on what could be high costs at a normal vet clinic.

“It helps out the lower-income people that, like us, we’ve got a total of seven dogs. For a vet, the bill would be over $1,000 to get the same thing done. So, it’s definitely beneficial for the community, “ said Rick Lisek, drive-thru clinic attendee.

Volunteers say these clinics also make vaccinations more accessible for busy pet owners.
