DOUGLAS COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) -Eastern Douglas County volunteer firefighters spent hours rescuing a dog stuck in a hole Saturday night.
According to the fire department, at around 11 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the report of a dog stuck between two rocks. Once on scene, they found a dachshund that had somehow gotten himself into a hole just big enough for him to fit into, which led to him being stuck behind a big rock.
Fire crews say they had to dig a 15-foot tunnel underneath the rock’s ledge to free the dog.
The dachshund, Thedor, was reunited with his owner at around 3 a.m. Sunday morning. There were no injuries. Willow Springs Ambulance was on standby for the crew’s safety, the department said.
