OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A Lincoln woman is showing her art in a place where people walk over it every day.
Coneflowers were the inspiration for Samantha Wicht’s chalk art.
“I always draw them for some reason. I’m just very drawn to coneflowers,” Wicht said.
“They’re all local like native Nebraskan flowers. I’m very inspired by nature, especially nature in Nebraska, so I always try to do flowers whenever I’m doing chalk art.”
She has done chalk art for the last five years, but Wicht has been making art for as long as she can remember.
“I went to art school, specifically for drawing and painting, but my main thing is drawing, like colored pencils and pastels.”
Her initial sketch took 45 minutes, with the larger eight-by-eight sidewalk canvas waking two days to complete.
