Zara Beth was looking forward to seeing her grandmother in northwest London before heading to France on holiday the next day.

She has autism, Tourette syndrome, as well as chronic illnesses and uses a wheelchair to travel and help manage her symptoms.

The 20-year-old had planned her London commute far in advance to include accessible routes. Having commuted from Manchester, she intended to travel north on the Thameslink from St Pancras to visit her relative.

When when she arrived, the lift was broken. She said: “My heart just sunk.”
