A series of closures has been announced over the next few months for HS2 works. The ongoing high-speed rail project will connect London with the West Midlands with faster train journeys and less congestion.

The closures have been announced for Waste Lane in Balsall Common , where the road will shut from 6am on Monday, September 1, until 5pm on Sunday, September 28. Once reopened, there will be traffic lights until Saturday, November 1.

The second phase will bring another closure from 6am on Monday, November 10 until 5pm on Sunday, December 7. This will be followed by temporary traffic lights on Waste Lane from Monday, December 8 to Saturday, December 20.

HS2 said the closures are required for a new bridge to be installed. This comes after work was postponed on the A46 until October
