Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and John Reid, the GOP nominee for lieutenant governor, campaigned together at the New Kent County Republican Committee meeting Tuesday evening, appearing united and friendly less than four months after Youngkin asked Reid to step down from the ticket.

Youngkin and Reid spoke to an enthusiastic crowd of about 200 people at New Kent County High School, many of them holding John Reid signs and wearing “I stand with John Reid” shirts.

Reid started by thanking Youngkin for “saving Virginia.”

“Imagine where we would be if the Democrats had won,” said Reid, a former Richmond radio host who faces state Sen. Ghazala Hashmi, D-Chesterfield, in the general election.
