An electrician working at Hackensack Middle School says the toilet he was using suddenly and "without warning" exploded, leaving him with numerous injuries.

Walter Ullrich has filed a lawsuit against Hackensack Middle School, the Board of Education, the Bergen County Office of Education, Hackensack and the county after he said he suffered injuries when a toilet in the middle school "malfunctioned" and "exploded with extreme force."

Derek Sands, a spokesperson for Bergen County did not respond to requests for comment. The city attorney had no comment while Jason Nunemacker, attorney for the school district, said he just received the lawsuit and needed to investigate and didn't have a comment.

Ullrich's attorney, Kevin Kruse, said he didn't have any other information to add to the lawsuit
