The New York Giants ' regular season opener slated for Sept. 7 in Landover, Md., against the Washington Commanders is in three weeks, and while that may seem like a lot of time, within the NFL calendar, it's really not.

The Giants have only one preseason game left on Thursday night against Mike Vrabel and the New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium. They have just three practice days remaining after Monday's walkthrough before the final cuts are due leaguewide on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Buy New York Giants tickets

All teams must be down to 53 players by 4 p.m. on that day. Typically, it's a tough spot to practice that day - teams will, but you usually don't want to put players who will be waived or released in harm's way on the field.
