A Major League Baseball player has apologized after throwing his bat at an opponent during a game.
Seattle Mariners star Victor Robles was playing for one of the team's affiliates and performed the shocking act.
Robles, 28, was in action for Triple-A Tacoma against the Las Vegas Aviators.
He was facing off against pitcher Joey Estes in the third inning of the game.
An errant pitch hit Robles on his right shoulder despite his desperate attempt to dive for cover.
The Mariners player turned away from the plate seemingly hurt.
But seconds later his pain turned to fury as he launched his bat in the pitcher's direction.
Robles was then seen pointing at his rival and was immediately ejected.
He tried to run towards the pitcher's mound but was restrained by teammate.
