The Yankees have a hot streak going, sweeping the Cardinals on their way out of St. Louis, and have now won five of their last six. Two straight series wins isn’t much to brag about usually, but considering they haven’t done so since late May I think it’s fair to be a little more optimistic than we’ve been lately. They’ll take a day off to travel before opening a two-game series against the Rays as a precursor to a huge four-game set against the Red Sox that could flip their place in the standings all over again.
