ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

Sandia National Laboratories is conducting a series of controlled explosives tests this week at the Thunder Range test site, located on the south end of Kirtland Air Force Base.

Officials say the tests are part of Sandia’s national security mission and are being conducted under controlled conditions and in compliance with all environmental regulations.

Test dates and times — weather permitting — include:

Monday, Aug. 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A previous test was conducted earlier this month on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Sandia says the schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
