LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. —

Lincoln County residents affected by the recent storms and flooding can now apply for food assistance through the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or D-SNAP.

Applications are open from Sunday, Aug. 18, through Saturday, Aug. 24.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham requested and received federal approval to provide D-SNAP benefits to the county following the severe storm and flooding that hit on June 23. The Presidential Disaster Declaration includes the entire county. Officials estimate roughly 7,297 households may be eligible for assistance.
