KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knox County launched a website for "Operation Hero's Hill", an initiative aimed at addressing veteran homelessness through the creation of a tiny home village , county officials announced.

The project will create 20 tiny homes for veterans and connect them with critical services, according to officials. A community center on-site will feature a computer lab, laundry facility and a meeting space.

Mayor Glenn Jacobs first announced this initiative in May. With help from experts, Knox County Schools’ Career and Technical Education students will build the houses, officials said.

D.R. Horton donated all construction supplies, and work is set to begin this month, according to the initiative's website.
