MADISON – The Wisconsin football team retooled during the offseason and returned with a new direction on offense, a new look to the defense and a resolve to play better in 2025.
Soon we’ll know the impact of those changes and the depth of that resolve. The Badgers open the season on Thursday, Aug. 28, against Miami (Ohio) at Camp Randall Stadium.
That game marks the start of a challenging schedule that includes a road game at Alabama, as well as visits to Michigan, Oregon and a regular-season finish at Minnesota.
The contest also marks the start of Year 3 of Luke Fickell's tenure as head coach. The Badgers went 5-7 overall last year, 3-6 in the Big Ten and ended the season with five straight losses. It was the program's first losing season since 2001.
