Local volunteer fire department one of 150 nationwide recipients of $10,000 grant

A local volunteer fire department is one of 150 across the United States that is getting part of a $1.5 million grant through the Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program .

The Rigsby Volunteer Fire Department in Pikeville along with the following eight other agencies in Tennessee to be getting a $10,000 grant from the program:

Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department (Henry County)

Limestone Cove Volunteer Fire Department (Unicoi County)

Medina Fire Department (Gibson County)

North Hamblen County Volunteer Fire Department (Morristown)

Notchey Creek Volunteer Fire Department (Madisonville)

Shady Valley Volunteer Fire Department (Shady Valley)

Stewart County Fire Rescue (Dover)
