A truck driver is facing homicide charges after causing a crash that left three people dead in St. Lucie County on Tuesday, according to reports from WFLA.
The truck driver was identified as 28-year-old Harjinder Singh from California.
He was driving a semi-truck on the Florida Turnpike in St. Lucie County when troopers said he tried to make a U-turn at a turnaround path.
The path had a no U-turn sign that read "for official use only," according to WFLA.
When the driver made the illegal U-turn, it obstructed all lanes heading north. A minivan was unable to slow down and became trapped beneath the truck.
The two passengers inside the minivan died on the scene, while the driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.
