Fourth-year head coach Wes Kragt acknowledged that Manhattan is rebuilding this season following the departure of a veteran and talented class of seniors. But, he added, don’t count them out.

Although the Tigers are young this season, Kragt feels they’ll be competitive in the Southern B conference following back-to-back appearances in the State B championship game.

“I think we’ll be competitive against everybody,” he said. “I think Columbus is going to be real tough and you got (Kanon) Reichman over there in Three Forks, and he’s going to be tough to handle by himself. So I see those two teams being real competitive.

“I think every game we’re going to be in it. I think it’s going to be a close game. It’s just going to be a matter of can we pull it out and take that score at the end. I t
