Teresa Knox, developer and CEO of The Church Studio, has captured the 110-year history of the iconic Tulsa landmark in her new coffee table book, Sanctuary of Sound .

The book traces The Church Studio’s evolution from its beginnings as a neighborhood church, built by working-class citizens, to Leon Russell’s famed recording studio, and finally to its current role as a restored cultural center.

Over the decades, the building has served as a hub for baptisms, funerals, music, prayer, comfort, and celebration, reflecting the resilience of the Tulsa community through dust storms, world wars, and economic shifts.
