A major cable news network is getting a rebrand.

MSNBC announced Monday that it is changing its name to My Source News Opinion World, (MS NOW), as part of its corporate divorce from NBC.

The network, which slants liberal with personalities like Rachel Maddow, is part of a move to a new media company, VERSANT — which also includes CNBC, Golf Channel, GolfNow, and SportsEngine.

MSNBC was launched in 1996 as part of a partnership between Microsoft and NBC. The network appeared to celebrate the move away from NBC because it “gives us the freedom to chart our own path forward.”
