FLINT, MI -- Officials have talked for years about the need to replace Flint City Hall because of its age, poor maintenance, and inefficiencies.

But now it’s been singled out for another shortcoming -- being the ugliest public building in country.

The New Jersey Real Estate Network says it surveyed more than 3,000 people, asking them to vote on the nation’s 100 most unattractive city halls, county government complexes, and courthouses, listing Flint as the worst of the worst .

“This municipal hub is all about business, with a straightforward layout and an exterior that leans heavily into concrete and brick,” the July 28 report reads. “It gets high marks for durability, but stylistically, it’s stuck in an era where civic buildings weren’t expected to be welcoming -- just solid.”
