Capitol Police announced that they arrested 47-year-old Shanta Lekeith Richmond, of Byram, for armed robbery and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Richmond was arrested in connection to the bank robbery that happened on Friday, August 8 at Cadence Bank on Canton Mart Road.

Authorities apprehended Richmond on Thursday, August 14 at a hotel near the bank without incident following their investigation.

Capitol Police said Richmond is cooperating with officials at this time and is currently being housed at the Raymond Detention Center in Hinds County for his charges.

Capitol Police thanked the Jackson Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security for their help with the case.
