OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The University of Nebraska Omaha is mourning the death of a basketball played that joined the Mavericks this offseason.
Graduate student Deng Mayar joined the team after making 42 appearances and 15 starts for the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.
Mayar was 22 years old.
Investigators told KSL.com in Salt Lake City that his body was recovered from the Blackridge Reservoir in Herriman, Utah, Saturday night. Local police said a 21-year-old man who had also been struggling in the water managed to reach the shore.
