WAREHAM — It was a twist of fate for an East Wareham man when his visit to a local convenience store changed his life in a serendipitous moment.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery , Anthony Wetherbee of East Wareham is now a millionaire. Taking a chance on the $10 "Bonus 100X" instant ticket game, Wetherbee became the winner of the third and final $4 million grand prize.
The instant game has just one prize of $1 million remaining.
Opting for the cash option, Wetherbee is set to receive a one-time payment of $2.6 million before taxes. He plans to use his newfound wealth to invest in property.
The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 174 Clay Pond Road in Bourne. The store will receive a $40,000 bonus for selling it.
