This follows an investigation by the Animal Welfare Section (AWS) in response to a complaint saying the shelter wasn’t providing adequate veterinary care to animals in its custody.

The state says AWS found the shelter had a number of violations related to maintaining records of veterinary care, treatments, procedures and mediations.

The inspection also found issues with drainage in a dog observation room.
