Ihad to smile when I thought about 20 Democratic members of Congress urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza and honestly believing that would convince him ( “Hoyer, Olszewski meet with Netanyahu, urge him to end war,” Aug. 15).

This reminded me once seeing an elephant with a bunch of flies on its backside getting swished away by its tail. Didn’t seem to bother or affect him at all. So while these members of Congress should be back here taking care of this country, they waste their time trying to bite that “elephant” with just about the same success as the flies.

Netanyahu is tough as nails and no one, Democrats in Congress, President Donald Trump or his own people will convince him to do anything other than what he wants to do.
