BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Former LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron is considering a return to the sidelines, nearly four years after his last game in Baton Rouge.

The Larose, Louisiana native, who led the Tigers to a perfect 15-0 season and a national championship in 2019, said on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast that the coaching bug has returned.

“I think it’s time,” Orgeron said. “I’m feeling it a little bit. Haven’t made the decision totally, but I’ve got my boys settled, coaching football now. It’s been four years since I’ve been out. I’m getting the itch again.”

Orgeron, now 64, hasn’t coached since parting ways with LSU in 2021. Since then, he’s stayed close to the game, making appearances at programs like Miami and Tulane, where his sons are on staff.
