The oldest quarterback on the Cleveland Browns' roster has won the quarterback competition.
Joe Flacco will be the Browns' starting quarterback in Week 1, the team announced Monday .
Flacco, 40, will begin his 18th NFL season when he takes the field against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 7.
Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett and Tyler Huntley were Cleveland's other quarterbacks in training camp, with Deshaun Watson out for the year due to injury.
Sanders and Gabriel were fifth- and third-round draft picks in April, Pickett was acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles in March and Huntley was signed earlier this month.
Flacco was always the expected winner of this competition given his veteran presence and experience with head coach Kevin Stefanski. In 2023
