More public art will blossom downtown this month during the Valparaiso Creative Council’s second annual mural walk Saturday.
Executive Director Jessica Corral said the planning began last August after the first mural walk was completed. Public art plants seeds in people. “They get to see something they don’t normally see,” she said. “They can pause and they can reflect on something different that expands their quality of life exponentially.”
“I think that’s the whole heart of our exhibition and what we’re doing,” Corral said.
The murals and other public art downtown are a sign that “the arts are here to stay,” she said.
“We’re initiating this wave of images and things that people can interact with,” Corral said.
