CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - As expected, veteran Joe Flacco will be the Browns starting quarterback week 1 against Cincinnati.

The Browns announced the move officially Monday.

Flacco’s entering his 18th NFL season.

Flacco has not played in the first 2 preseason games, both Browns wins.

He led the Browns to the playoffs in 2023, going 4-1 down the stretch but was not re-signed after the season. He spent 2024 with Indianapolis.

Kenny Pickett will now battle for the backup job with rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel.
