The Terminal List: Dark Wolf showrunner, author, and co-star have explained why the prequel show was made before The Terminal List season 2. Based on the novel by Jack Carr, The Terminal List was created by David DiGilio, released in July 2022, and stars Chris Pratt as a Navy SEAL who sets out to avenge the death of his family.

The Terminal List season 2 was renewed in February 2023, but has yet to be released, with DiGilio pivoting to prequel show Dark Wolf , which focuses on Taylor Kitsch's character, Ben Edwards.
