The Market Basket Board of Directors has removed one of its members who was an ally of suspended CEO Arthur T. Demoulas.

The removal of director Bill Shea has sparked another war of words between the board and Demoulas amid a family fight for control of the regional supermarket chain.

Harvey Wolkoff, a lawyer for the board, alleged in a statement that Shea has made "baseless claims and threats of lawsuits" against board members that he leaked to the press, all while being "Arthur's rubber stamp for decades."
