CHERRY COUNTY, Neb. —

An Arkansas man was sentenced to prison in a crash that killed a Council Bluffs man last year.

Adam Cooper will serve 2 years and 7 months for motor vehicle homicide, reckless driving, and attempted failure to stop and render aid in the death of 82-year-old Larry Covalciuc.

According to court documents, the Cherry County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash involving a bicyclist, identified as Covalciuc, near Valentine on Highway 20 in June 2024.
