WAVERLY, Mich. (WILX) - Waverly Community Schools students will have an extra day of summer vacation.

That’s according to Interim Superintendent Richard Dunham on social media.

According to Dunham, the first day of school will be delayed by one day due to summer construction projects.

“This day provides the necessary time for final preparations inside our buildings,” Dunham said.

School will now begin on Thursday, Aug. 21 instead of Wednesday, Aug. 20.

"Thank you, as always, for your partnership and for entrusting us with your children," Dunham said.
