President Donald Trump is changing his attitude toward Washington, D.C., in a mere few days.

Trump claimed on Monday that the nation’s capital has become the “safest” and is “getting better every single hour“ in a post on his Truth Social platform.

“Until 4 days ago, Washington, D.C., was the most unsafe ‘city’ in the United States, and perhaps the World,” Trump wrote, adding “People are flocking to D.C. again, and soon, the beautification will begin!”

His post comes after he announced last Monday that he would federalize the Metropolitan Police Department and deploy the National Guard to the city in an effort to combat crime. Describing the situation as “complete and total lawlessness,” Trump blamed the “public safety crisis” on local officials.
