EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- All El Paso Electric customers in Texas will be getting a credit on their bills for the next three months, the utility said on Monday, Aug. 18.

The average residential customer will receive a credit of approximately $9.61 on their September and October bills, an estimated savings of 7.41%, according to EPE.

On their November bill, the average residential customer will receive a credit of approximately $5.42, an estimated savings of 7.55% for that month, the utility said.

The refund will be reflected on the fuel charge line item on customer bills.

The fuel factor is designed to recover the cost of the fuel used to generate electricity, a cost EPE incurs to generate electricity for its customers. EPE does not earn a profit on fuel costs, it says.
