BAR HARBOR - 2.3 million dollars going to the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory will help train leaders in new ways to heal injury and disease.

A statement says the National Institute of Health is providing the funding for a regenerative biology program for graduate students, post doctoral fellows and early career scientists who will become the next pioneers in the field.

MDI Bio Lab Assistant Professor Prayag Murawal is a leading researcher in limb regeneration.
