MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Authorities in Montgomery County said a Washington, D.C. man is suspected of committing a rape and bank robbery on back-to-back days last week.

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said Rockville City police were called to a gas station just after 7 p.m. on Aug. 14 to investigate the report of a rape.

Police said 34-year-old Carlos St. James Hover was accused of entering the store, physically attacking and sexually assaulting the only employee there at the time. He then reportedly left in a Mazda SUV while wearing distinctive clothing.

The next day, shortly before 9:30 a.m., MCPD was called to the Capital One Bank in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue for an armed bank robbery. Hover was reportedly arrested at the scene.
