A pedestrian who was hit on Aug. 14 at an Esquimalt intersection has died of her injuries, according to West Shore RCMP.

The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Admirals and Maplebank roads, which is where the border of Esquimalt and Songhees Nation land is.

The pedestrian was hit by a white GMC Savana van, and the 48-year-old woman died of her injuries over the weekend.

The intersection was closed for several hours for the investigation to take place. RCMP says the driver remained on scene. The cause is still under investigation, but drugs and alcohol have been ruled out.

Anyone with dash cam footage in the area between 10:15 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. is asked to review their footage and contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 if you captured the crash.
