MUNCIE, Ind. — It was supposed to be a simple Facebook Marketplace transaction. The seller hands over the keys to an old car. The buyer, a stack of bills worth $1,500.

It should go without saying that those bills should be real U.S. currency and not include "propmoney.com" printed on the side.

Nathan Durden-Washpun, 38, of Muncie, thought he pulled a fast one, allegedly swapping an envelope of prop cash for a Chrysler 300.

The ruse didn't last long. Durden was arrested on Sunday by Muncie police officers on preliminary felony charges of conspiracy to commit auto theft, conspiracy to commit fraud and conspiracy to commit forgery.
